The weather in Ohio has been AMAZING this weekend! 60 degrees in February. To take full advantage of it, Carl and I had a day date today ( Sunday).
The alarm went off at 6:30 this morning as we started off our new Kickstarter program for our training group, for those who are signed up for the Cap City Commit to be Fit 5K. We had 2 new people show up and are committed to doing their first 5k! SO exciting!
Once we were finished I was so exhausted and just cold, probably from being SO busy the last few days and I was in shorts, I needed a nap ASAP. Carl made us breakfast, which was an English muffin, topped with avocado and a fried egg. He is SO good at making this for us! I immediately crawled back in bed and Carl took off for an 18 mile run. I told him that I would call him when I woke up to meet him.
One nice thing is that I could track him on his Garmin. I knew he was getting close to a point I could meet him, so I called him and told him I would meet him in Grandview. My goal was to get at least 10 miles in. I hopped in the car and headed towards Grandview.
I found Carl, locked the keys in the car and off we went. We headed towards OSU campus via the Olentangy Trail and the sun finally started to come out. It was chilly this morning so I was SO happy to see the sun shining. And we were able to wear shorts!
At about mile 5, my left shoe was rubbing my foot and I had to find a bathroom (typically runner problems, right!?). We ran to a Kroger, did our business, refilled our water ( which tasted so bad by the way) and grabbed a quick snack to refuel :-)
We both felt recharged after the break and continued on High Street. We were in Clintonville and recognized our friends car coming out of somewhere; I wasn't really paying attention to where we were exactly. Sure enough it was them! Had to snap a picture.

We made it to Worthington and were going to go to Dewey's Pizza as Carl wanted pizza and I wanted a salad. Carl had about .6 of a mile to go more than me so I told him I would meet him there. Once I got to the pizza place, they didn't open until 4 and by this time, it was around 2:30. I took my left shoe off, and sat in the sun and waited on Carl to finish.
Carl finished and he saw someone else we know! One of the founders of Noxgear, Simon. He came out to one of our weekly runs last fall and let everyone try a Noxgear on and also provided our club with a discount code!
We decided to go to Old Bag of Nails for lunch. I ordered a Greek Salad and Carl had a quesadilla. My salad was awful, and wouldn't recommend the salad unless you like a bunch of white iceburg lettuce..ugh. We did have our last Twix snack size bar before lunch, so that helped :-)
Once we were done, we called an Uber and went back to the car. We love spending our days out and exploring the city....and there is nobody else I would rather run with and live life with!
Please don't forget to follow me! :-)
