Lots going on in the neighborhood!

We live in quite an unique neighborhood where we actually know a lot of our neighbors and are friends with them as well. What makes it unique is that we don't have attached garages so you actually have to park in your driveway or on the street and walk in your house.  In our neighborhood, you don't pull into your attached garage and never see or say hi to your neighbors. We have a very active neighbors association. I sit on the board as a co-chair to our annual home and garden tour. The association is not HOA, however a civic organization and we get things done!

On Friday night, one of the guys in the neighborhood had a grand opening to his new store called Firefly Sweet Shoppe. The store is absolutely adorable. It's very small and very much a boutique.

This is such an asset to our neighborhood and I know it will be very well supported! Now, when we want chocolate, all we have to do is walk about a mile and get ice cream, taffy, chocolate covered almonds or chocolate covered pretzels ;-)

Saturday morning was the grand opening of the Westgate Farmers Market! This is really, really exciting for our side of town. 2 gals in the neighborhood started work on this about a year or so ago. We are hoping that the City sees that the westside has it going on and will see that people are doing awesome things! There were about 17 vendors, 2 food trucks and the City of Columbus Police mounted unit showed up. I can't wait to see this market grow and continue to be successful throughout the summer season. It was such a great, great day!

Cream and Sugar, a local ice cream shop was there and by the looks of her line, she had a very successful day.

David, my other half for home and garden, selling tickets for the tour ;-)
