Our first run after the half last weekend was Wednesday. I thought I had more in me than I did. My right thigh was really tight at about mile 2. I was still a bit congested and just didn't have it in me. I decided to stop at 2.42 miles. What the heck? A few days before I knocked out a half!
It's funny how some runs are awesome and some, well just suck.
On Thursday, I was feeling much better! I did a solo run and ran 6 miles. Towards the end of the run, I got caught in the rain and it was awesome. One of the things running has taught me was not to worry about the weather...just being outside doing something I enjoy is so good for the mind. I got home and I felt amazing! Running in the rain is one of my favorite things to do.
On Saturday, I wanted to make sure I got a few miles in. Carl and I just did a nice 3 mile run around our neighborhood.
Sunday was long run day and Carl's legs were tight and he was sore. He told me to go ahead and run without him. I decided to go out of the neighborhood; these streets get boring once you see them day after day. I drove near OSU and got on the Olentangy trail. I decided 8 miles was a good distance as this was going to be my last long run before Cap City. The weather was just perfect and a bit cool-a good recipe for a good running day.
On my way back, I wanted to run by OSU stadium for something different and to change it up a bit. The campus was quiet but what else did I expect on a Sunday?
