Batelle Darby Creek Trail

We have been enjoying our long runs on Sundays! The last few weeks, we committed to run at least 10 miles until our half, which is in 2 weeks. We will be running the Cincinnati Brokemans half marathon Sunday April 17th; can't wait! Our Sunday routine has been getting up early, having cinnamon rolls then heading out to run. Need some carbs to fuel our runs and cinnamon rolls are just perfect! This past weekend I was busy and needed to be back no later than 12:30. We started around 10:00 am. It was really windy and cold on Sunday. I went back and forth on what to wear. I knew I if I wore a long sleeved t-shirt I was going to be too cold and a hoodie was going to be too warm. I ended up wearing one of Carls Under Armour cold weather gear shirts. It was perfect!

Not sure if you can see in the background of the picture, but there are a herd of Bison at the park we run. I haven't seen them out before and they were all out on Sunday! Had to stop and get a picture. By this time, we had a goal of getting 10 miles in. I kept asking Carl what time it was as I wanted to get in 11. We ended up having time to get that bonus 11 in and it felt amazing! My pace was 9:20. Not too bad considering how windy it was out there. The trail is wide open and there isn't much around to stop the wind. We got back to our car and ours was the only one left...
Everyone else who was there when we arrived, must have  either gotten their run in and left or said heck with it and decided not to to a very long run/walk. I was happy to see the car at the end :-)
